BLAME IT ON
THE BOOGIE
Blame It On The Boogie brings Aldo Cristofaro’s paintings into dialogue with the distinctive historical architecture of Schloss Henkell. Movement, rhythm and unpredictability meet a painting practice in which colour, line and space form an open, evolving system.
Cristofaro’s works develop through layering, revision and shifting relationships rather than from a predetermined image. Earlier decisions remain visible, are overwritten or recontextualised, allowing each painting to become a temporary state within an ongoing process.
At Schloss Henkell, this contemporary pictorial system encounters a highly articulated historical order. The tension between painting and architecture becomes part of the exhibition itself: two different systems of space, rhythm and time confronting and activating one another.
